If you are interested in making money on your Joomla web site, here is what OGO Sense recommends for credit card processing:
OPTION 1: PayPal
- PayPal applies a 2.2% commission on each transaction, plus a $0.30 charge per transaction
OPTION 2: Google Checkout
- Google applies 2% commission on each transaction + $0.20 per transaction starting in Feb 2008
OPTION 3: 2CheckOut
- 2CO applies a 5.5% commission on each transaction, plus a $0.45 charge per transaction.
- $49 activation fee.
OPTION 4: No Gateway (Check with your local bank about credit card processing options)
- Your
visitors submit credit card information over encrypted connection on
your web site. You export orders daily and ask your bank to process
these credit card orders for you.
- Virtuemart does perform some basic credit card validity tests.
OPTION 5: Authorize.net
- contact authorize.net for a quote. You should negotiate the best price possible.
