To save money, time and energy with your Joomla site, you may consider getting help from a professional Joomla company or developer. But how do you know if you need help?

If you negatively answer more than a few of the following questions, then you should seek professional help. These are not all possible maintenance questions but will give you an idea where you stand.
  1. Do you have time to check for and complete regular Joomla security updates yourself?
  2. Do you have time to set up test installation first to make sure your updates will work fine?
  3. Do you have time and knowledge to fix anything that may go wrong during updates?
  4. Do you know how to protect yourself against hackers?
  5. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a fixed cost maintenance plan?
  6. Do you know how to make regular website backups and test them?
  7. Do you know that by not being careful about extensions you install, you could easily introduce new bugs and security issues?
  8. Don't you know that your developer or company that initially implemented your Joomla site would probably be the best company to maintain it (assuming you have a constructive and positive working relationship)?
  9. Do you know that many companies offer discounts for regular clients?
  10. Do you know that all your SEO and Internet marketing work could go to waste if you don’t have a correctly functioning Joomla website?

My recommendations for small businesses and non-profits using Joomla CMS when they design their website with OGO Sense include:
  • stay with one of OGO Sense Joomla maintenance plans for at least 3 or 6 months.
  • concentrate on optimizing and promoting your content.
  • set up a time to discuss next 1 month, 3 month, 6 month and 12 month goals and budget.
Then, after the initial maintenance period, if you think  there is some other company which can do your maintenance better, you can easily switch or do it later at any time.

Questions:
  • Is your Joomla CMS maintenance giving you headaches?
  • Are you considering getting professional maintenance help?
  • Did you make your website yourself?
  • Did you lose a touch with your design company?
  • Did your developer go on a trip around the world? :-)
  • Are you now looking for maintenance information or maintenance schedule?
