1. Do you know who your best repeat customers are? What do they buy from your website?
  2. How often do your repeat shoppers buy from you?
  3. Could you predict what and when they will buy next?
  4. Do you have customers that have stopped buying from you and what will it take to get them back?
Let’s review some major differences between new prospects and repeat customers:
  • It’s cheaper to keep an existing customer than to find a new one.
  • You have to earn the trust of new prospects but existing customers already trust you.
  • If you value your existing customers, it will be easier for you to get new customers.

Based on your current Virtuemart data, complete the following 3 steps to improve your repeat orders:

Step 1: Export your data. Ask your Joomla designer to set you up with exporting Virtuemart orders, users and products as a CSV file so you may do it yourself any time.
Step 2: Analyze your data. If you cannot do it yourself, ask your Joomla consultant to train you on how to import your Virtuemart shopping cart data into an excel document, Google Spreadsheet or your CRM where you can analyze your repeat shoppers and orders.
Step 3: Get in touch with your repeat customers. Follow up with interesting news, gift coupons for their birthday or holiday or ask them for input on how you could serve them better.

As you complete steps 1, 2 and 3 above, keep in mind the benefits of repeat customers:
  • These customers already know who you are and are familiar with your brand.
  • They will be receptive to your message because they already trust you.
  • You have their correct address, contact info and understand their personal preferences so you may even further personalize their shopping experience.
